Application Control Critical for Enabling Secure Social Media Access

If you've followed us for long, you know how strongly we recommend identifying the critical requirements for your organization before purchasing a Secure Web Gateway solution. We also strongly recommend that you consider buying a separate solution to handle application control as well.

If protecting your brand image is one of your requirements (hint: for 99% of you that should be a yes) then a secure web gateway solution with application control features is a must. Even more important for brand protection is that those application control features provide granular controls over social media access and not just social media blocking.

Not all secure web gateway solutions have strong application controls. If you want to allow social media access, but need to audit user access to comply with FINRA, HIPAA, or other regulations, then Actiance USG with Socialite is a solutions that you need to investigate.

Actiance will make a good companion to an existing secure web gateway solution and add strength to your existing DLP protection as well.
